Rich History

John Scheuerman, Sr. founded Sherman Optical in 1939 at Third and Pike in downtown Seattle. Throughout the years, our business expanded with offices throughout the Seattle area. Sherman Optical has been managed by the Scheuerman family for 70 years. John Scheuerman Jr. took over from John, Sr. and in 1975, John, Jr. passed the store to his son Fred. Fred kept one individual store running, and today Fred's son, Mike, runs the store with him.

Tradition of Service

Fred and Mike are keeping the same family tradition and values that have lasted throughout the years: customer satisfaction and quality work at reasonable prices.

What our customers say:
Thank you so very much for restoring my magnified sight. My telescopes are better aligned than before the frame broke. Thank you to the father & son duo that have give me a peaceful, magnified week!

Certifications and Honors

Fred has been a licensed optician since 1972, and Mike was licensed in 2004. Both are members of Opticians Association of Washington and Opticians Association of America. Scheuerman Optical was honored to be named Best Opticians of Puget Sound by Consumers' Checkbook (a nonprofit consumer information organization).
